Championships was held in Hastings Sport Centre
on April 7, 8 2007. (Sponsorship of New Zealand
Branch Chief Solomon Purcell) |
| For two days, more 200
players played an exciting game in Kata and Kumite.
The general part according to the class divides
into the player according to the age. 11groups including
other style of Martial Arts competed for the technique.
Also, Shihan Taylor, Shihan Bowden, chief of Shihan
Viccarsfs branch and twins of Viccarsfs branch joined
in game. I wanted to watch twins match in the final,
but it was impossible. Various martial styles are
loved in New Zealand because New Zealandfs amusement
may be few. Kata was point system by judgment. |
In Menfs Kumite section,
Tatsuya Katakai and Tsubasa Shimizu went to
the final match. In Womenfs Kumite section,
Kaori Ishihara and Chieko Sakamoto went to the
final match. Tatuya Katakai who was the runner-up
in the 13th individual match was the first victor
in this match. In womenfs match, Kaori Ishihara
had held the championship for second years running.
In Kata section, the winner were Naoya Matsumi(sho-dan)
in elementary school, Mari Amano(Sho-dan) in
Junior high school, and Michiko Matsumoto(sho-dan)
in women. They got the highest score in Kata,
regulation programs and Kata, free program and
were finely covered in glory. The day was very
humid and hot in all day. Kata, regulation programs
and Kata, free programs divided into three courts
according to the sections. They challenged in
groups of four at the same time. After that,
it was done by 105 Kumite matches while receiving
a hot rooting in one court.
