| The 14th Gunma Prefecture
Kyokushin Karate Championships were held on September
11th, 2005 in Isesaki City. There were 5 sections
? Senior male and female Kumite and Kata competitions
for Females, Primary School students and Junior
High School students. With 137 participants, there
were many exciting fights, including the Male final
between Tsubasa Arai and Tsuyoshi Usami, and the
female final between Kaori Ishihara and Maya Shinohara.
Both these finals were very close matches with the
eventual winners being Arai (who returned from 3rd
placing in the 2004 tournament) and Ishihara. |
| The Kata section saw Yuichi
Mashimo (Shodan) of the Primary Schools division,
Yuta Kogure (Shodan) of the Junior High division and
Misaki Nakayama (Shodan) of the female division receiving
the highest scores in both compulsory Kata and free
Kata to become the eventual winners. It is pleasing
to see that the Kata competitor's skills are increasing
continuously. |
