Kyokushin 5th Open Tournament in China

October 2nd 2009, the China Kyokushin Fifth Open Tournament started in Nanking city.
The Nanking Branch, Shang-hi Branch, Iran (Branch Chief Afshin Tabatabaie) and Russia (Branch Chief Alexander Udodov) Branches all made teams and faced off in this tournament. President Matsushima attended, kicking the tournament into high gear. Since the Public Athletic Facilities were closed due to the swine and bird flu viri, an elementary school gym was borrowed. Packing 280 fighters under warm, sunny conditions, despite it being October, literally heated battles were fought. |
【China Nanking Branch Seminar Commences】
The seminar was conducted by President Matsushima at the China Nanking Branch’s (Branch Chief Feng Zhao’s) main Dojo. Given that a visit by President Matsushima to the Nanking branch was a first, the representative was given a grand welcome by the karate fans of China. The China branch, like its economy, is fast growing with Dojo numbers increasing at a remarkable rate. Nanking City has many colleges and lots of clubs all vigorous and full of life. |
