The hotel I stayed at Gallipoli, Italy is found at the heel of the Italian shoe and in front of the ocean, this area has a long history. I visited Arberobello, Trulli which is a 1 ? hour drive from their. The building's were very old, like we have in Japan. The limestone structures were made around 300 - 400 B.C., with circular cone shaped roofs adorned with religious patterns on them. The roof was a very blackish color, however the walls of the houses were 10 cm thick, to protect against the cold weather, and white in color to guard against the strong sun-shine.
Currently, this area is divided into two sections. One is for tourist and the other is for the people who live their. To me it seemed like they were a cheerful/high-spirited group of people. This region is located in southern Italy, and I was told that it was very unusual to include tourist in this location, but it did included a gift-shop restaurant as a tourist attraction. There was a sign with both Japanesse and Italian posted in front of the gift-shop, I'm sure it's a very popular place.
