Gvenetadze, Gia 2nd dan (Georgia) vs. Doronin, Sergiy, 2nd dan (Ukraine)
It started with single technique yet at a high quality with a very intense fight. They had perfect defense and they even threw a technique in the last 10 second, but could not find the way of advantage. It became a draw.
At the extended match when Gvenetadze threw the technique, it accidentally hit Doronin in the face so it was “Chui 1” (one point reduction).
Decision was one flag for Doronin. During the extended match, one flag went to Gvenetadze this time. There was no more than 10kg difference so the final decision was to be by tameshiwari (board breaking). The outcome was a total of 14 boards for Gvenetadze and 15 boards for Doronin. Only one board difference made Doronin the winner. |

Parvari, Issa 4th dan (Iran) vs. Sefari, Saeid 4th dan (Iran)
It was a match between two fighters from the same country. Other team members from Iran didn’t take sides during this fight since both fighters were representing Iran. Since they knew each other, their match started out in a very calm fight. They carefully watched what kind of technique they should start with.
Sefari had advantage of body size and weight to push Parvari. Still he could not find the advantage and it became a draw. The extended match was same as well. The second extended match was 3-0 for Parvari, even though he had a disadvantage of body size. |

Heidari, Sajad 1st dan (Iran) vs. Samedov, Rasim 1st kyu (Russia)
Besides the disadvantage of body size, Samedov, Rasim tried a roll kick against Heidari. It was Chui ichi (one point reduction) for Heidari due to face contact to Samedov. At the end of the 10 seconds, Heidari dominated the match and it became a judge decision. So it was Heidari by 5-0. He dominated the match. |

Hacsko, Laszlo injured his hand and had to withdraw the match.
Shihabhov, Anzor became winner by default. |

Both fighters had the same physique. It started with a single technique and in the middle of the fight, Parvari started to throw a combination of Seiken and Geddan geri (low kick). It was an impressive fight because the tournament was an open category and both fighters were no bigger than the other. At the end, Parvari threw a Gedan geri (low kick) and it was good timing to get Ippon. Parvari was the winner. |

Heidari, Sajad 1st dan (Iran) vs. Shihabhov, Anzor 1st kyu (Russia)
It was a similar situation from the last World Open Tournament. Iran team was the one who had center of attention. Shihabhov came out from the 2nd round with all straight Wazari, so this match was expected to be a good match. Both fighters were in the super heavy weight category (90kg-100kg). They threw the Shitazuki from the beginning. Shihabhov threw a Do mawashi kaitengeri (roll kick), but he did not land it perfectly. Heidari tried be in close position to the opponent while Shihabhov threw a Hizageri against him. It was Chui ichi (one point reduction) for Shihabhov as a groin kick. It became an extended match by one red and one white flag. The Gedangeri (low kick) which was thrown by Shihabhov and it made contact to Heidari. He made another contact with a Hizageri (knee kick) to him followed by Gedangeri (low kick) when he received damage from the low kick. Finally, the winner was Shihabhov by 5-0. |

Shihabhov was a very versatile fighter. He had many techniques such as Ushiro mawashigeri (back round house kick) and Jodan hizageri (high knee kick). Parvari who was in 7th place at the last tournament tried to keep his head closer to Shihabhov. The main match was a draw. At the extended match, Shihabhov was trying to push Parvari out of the arena. However Parvari tried to stand against him. With the impression given by Shihabhov, he got three flags and became the winner of the match.
It was an incredible fight although there was damage received by both of them. |
